Gday Country Music Fans, Over the past few months I have been very busy with my country music singing and competing at many venues over Queensland and New South Wales. Back on the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th of April I travelled to Newcastle to sing with Bruce Howat's "Hey Hey its Country!" road show. I had a great time performing with two other well known performers, Bob Easter and Tom Maxwell. We performed at three seperate venues over the five days. I had a great time. On the 21st of April I travelled to Rockhampton in Queensland to sing at a Capricornia District Country Music Assoccation (CDCMA) Jamboree. I had a great time there aswell performing with over 30 other performers from around Rockhampton District. I travelled back to Rockhampton again on the 25th of May to sing and Busk along the main street for a special fundraising function. Two days later I travelled to Gladstone (about 1 hour from Rockhampton) to sing at the 'Sound Shell' as part of a free concert in the park. It was a good turn out, although, we were very unlucky when the rain set in and scared the crowd away. It was very dissappointing. On June 5th and 6th I sang at the Annual Emerald Show in Central Queensland. I enjoyed singing for the very large crowd that attended the show which was great. I am looking Forward to singing there again next year. From the 20th to the 22nd of July I competed at the Sarina Country Music Festival in North Queensland. I did very well winning four first places and two second places. I also took out the Junior Overall Winner. It was a great festival. From the 27th to the 30th of July I travelled back to Newcastle to join up again with the "Hey Hey Its Country!" roadshow. I performed with Bob Easter and Nathan Charlton at two differnt venues. The first night we all performed at the Kempsey Bowls Club. It was a great turn out of about 80 to 100 people. The second night we all performed at the Dungog RSL club. This was an even better turn out of about 250 people. On August the 10th, 11th and 12th I performed at 'Gemfest'. Gemfest is an annual festival that is held in the famous Gemfields of Central Queensland. I performed there with Paul Coster, Jennifer Altman and two African Drummers. This was a great festival and I am looking forward to next years festival. From the 31st of August to the 2nd of September I competed in the CDCMA Country Music Festival held in Rockhampton. I did exceptionally well getting seven first placings, two third placings, male best dressed and Overall Junior Champion. I am very happy with my efforts. On Saturday the 8th of September performed at the Emerald Chamber of Commerce. I sang to many Council representitives, mayors and community members from around the region. I will be releasing a new Album in January 2008 entitled "SomeWhere Along the Way". This album will have nine of my own compositions and four covers. This CD will be completely Bush Ballad. I will be making this CD with OutBack Studios in Kingaroy, Queensland. This studio is run by Buddy Thompson, a well known Bush Balladeer in Australia. I am really looking forward to it. From the 26th to the 28th I sang at the 2007 Widgee Balladeers Muster, joining many well known bush balladeers and musicians such as Kieth Jamieson, Reg Poole, Tom Maxwell, Buddy Thomson, Lynne Bennet, Alisha Smith, Graham Parfitt, Jim Brown, Ted Thompson, Greg Bain, Wave Jackson, Kimberly Cook, Shaza Leigh and many more to entertain many Bush Ballad Fans who camped in the showgrounds. This was a great festival and i can't wait until next year. I have also been performing at many of my local pubs and clubs. This has given me great exposure throughout the Central Highlands, Queensland. Well Tamworth is Fast approaching and this year Will be a great one for me as I am performing in over 12 shows over the 10 day festival. I am really looking forward to this.
